Silver Sky

Clouds drift apart;

an opening appears.

I look up at the sky,

lovely silver sky.

The flag of our country

sways back and forth

in the wind.

Everything is peaceful.

My mind is both racing

at the speed of light

and staying still as a

lump of coal.

The distance seems

far more beautiful

when I’m not in it.

Once I get closer,

the beauty goes away,

and I see it for what

it really is.

But for now, all I have

above me is this

silver sky —

keeper of all my dreams

and all my secrets.

Reminding me that…

dreams are meant

to be dreamt,

lives are meant

to be lived,

and songs are meant

to be sung.

Because

one day,

tomorrow will be today.
